BSS, where GIRLS are on the BALL!

Welcome to the Girls Program Information PAGE!  This is where we will post announcements, current events and updates for our girls teams.  Newly appointed to role of Girls Program Director, I am here to help you navigate the world of AAU basketball. Together, I know we can create the best scenarios for your daughter to reach her next level!

Please feel free to email me with questions, concerns and suggestions.  thanks, Coach Dawn  Email: coachdawn42@gmail.com

GRADES 4-8  FEBRUARY 4th--8th --  Players in grades 4-8 will begin receiving their invitations to join our teams.  Should you have any questions about the details in your letter OR if you do not recieve one by FRIDAY FEB 8th please contact me at coachdawn42@gmail.com

STILL ACCEPTING PLAYERS!!  If you know of players who did not have the chance to attend one of our evaluation sessions PLEASE Email me!  I love creating the best scenarios for kids and this means placing them at their appropriate level which challnges them enough to gain skill  and confidence but not be over, or under, whelmed.  The more kids we have the better this process goes and we all have more fun while learning the game! Send your friends along!

UPCOMING HIGH SCHOOL EVALUATIONS!!  High School Sessions are set for February 10th and 17th from 730-830 at St Marks School in Southboro.  PLEASE PRE-REGISTER right here on this website!

LOOKING FOR WOMEN to COACH our GIRLS Our program will be dedicated to finding female athletes to coach our players.  We may not hit the mark 100% and we certainly appreciate and respect the Male Coaching staff here at BSS/Mass Select.  However, we will strive to have women coach your daughters. A unique aspect to OUR PROGRAM ALONE! If you know of a young (or old!) woman who has played the game and has experience coaching young kids, please refer them along and we will thank you heartily!

Girls Coaching Staff

DAWN DESILETS SULMASY, Girls Program Director: Dawn started her basketball career playing for Hopkinton High School, Hopkinton, MA where she and her teammates led the team to the school’s first Massachusetts State tournament playoff bid.  Dawn received the Coach’s Award her senior year for her exemplary work ethic.  In 1986, she earned a walk-on spot on Bentley College’s Women’s Basketball Team Roster playing for Coach Barbara Stevens; Division II women’s basketball most winning coach. Coach Stevens recently earned her 1,000th win placing Stevens among only six women’s basketball coaches to hit the 1,000 mark; including Pat Summit. In 2014, the Bentley Falcons, after 14 trips to the NCAA Elite Eight, won the NCAA D2 National Championship.

During Dawn’s four years at Bentley, the team played in their first two NCAA Div II Final Four Tournaments and played in the Championship game her senior year.  Dawn earned a scholarship and also received the Coach’s Award for her leadership efforts.  Following graduation, Dawn went on to coach two seasons for Oliver Ames High School’s freshman team (27-1.)  Always finding a team or kid to coach, Dawn is in her 10th season coaching the Thomas Prince Middle School Girls, has worked for 4 years in the Central Mass Travel League, and has coached both boys and girls’ tournament teams for 10 seasons.

Dawn lives in beautiful Princeton, MA where she raises her three children and has a part-time business as a Holistic Health Coach. In October 2108, Dawn launched a blog called Hoops, Health and Happiness, where she talks about “off-the-court” strategies and solutions for “on-the-court” success.

TRACY POMERENKE REGANTracy ALSO played at Bentley University and for the legend Barabara Stevens! Tracy finished her career 14th on the school’s scoring list, with over 1,000 points. In her career at Bentley, the Falcons were 106- 25, with an Elite Eight and two Final Four appearances. Following her career at Bentley she served as an assistant coach at Emmanuel College for a year, and Saint Anselm College for five years before retiring to have a family. Tracy is a teacher in the Boston Public School. Currently, she coaches her three daughters in Framingham Travel League and runs a skills program called Live, Learn, Hoop.   Tracy will be assisting the newly formed 8th Grade Girls Mass Select team and will Head Coach our 4th/5th grade team as well as advise Dawn on all things related to creating the best program for your kids!  She's a true gem and we are lucky to have her work with us!! You can read more about Tracy at www.livelearnhoop.com

PETER SIEURIN: Coach Sieurin's team have dominated AAU basketball for over 10 years.  He has led our 11th grade team to Qualify for Nationals and a 2nd place finish in Massachuetts State Tournament and the 9th grade team to Qualify for the ZG Nationals as well. Coach Sieurin is an excellent teacher of fundamentals and drill work. There is NO DOUBT you will acquire more skills playing for Coach Sieurin. He currently is the Head Assistant Girls Coach at Algonquin Regional HS and formerly was the Head Girls Coach at Holy Name/ Worcester HS. He will be coaching our high school team again this season.
